Praying Prophets

There hasPrayer been a lot of talk about the new movie “War Room” that came out yesterday.  I have not seen it yet, but I will be going soon!  However, I have watched the trailer and read enough to know that it is a movie about the power and necessity of prayer.  I believe this movie comes at a critical time in our history.

Prayer and Bible Study are foundations of the Christian faith but the truth is most people only read their Bibles on Sunday when the follow along with the Pastor and they pray when a crisis arises and they need something. There is a prophetic stirring happening in me.  We are supposed to pray with God on a continual basis not just begging Him to help when we have a crisis.  Billy Graham says it this way,

“Prayer is simply a two way conversation between you and God.”

We need to make our requests known to God but we also need to listen and ask questions and then wait on His response. Listen to what Jesus says to his disciples in John 16:5

“But now I am going away to the one who sent me, and not one of you is asking where I am going.  Instead, you grieve because of what I’ve told you.”

Did you just catch that?  This is what so many of us are guilty of.  We are walking around depressed and grieving because we are not asking any questions or engaging in real prayer…which is two way communication.

It is time we begin to take up our mantle as intercessors.  Our families, our city, our state, our nation and yes…our world needs us to communicate and actively participate in the spirit realm.

Who is ready to join me on this mission of taking the foundation of prayer to the next level and becoming PRAYING PROPHETS and the voice of God in the earth?
